Our Family of 12 and 4 dogs stayed in the West Wing in November.
The cottage is full of character and had ample room for us all, the courtyard was a great size and we had dedicated parking for 3 cars.
It was so nice to all sit at one table for our meals and the wood burning fire was cosy in the evenings.
The views and grounds are lovely, there is a field that dogs can go in though there is access to the stream which one of our dogs took full advantage off, on a plus she came back clean!
There is even a stream by the cottage to clean the dogs feet of after a walk.
There is a nice kids play area which ours would have benefited more if we came in the warmer months.
The swimming pool is a great plus and went down well with the kids, they had great fun, for us a few degrees warmer would have been nice.
The location was perfect to Dunster, shops and the beach and we even bought local fish and chips back to the cottage.
Richard was a great host and even helped sort returning items that we had left behind!

Stayed here with a big group to celebrate a birthday! We were happy with the stay the bit we stayed in we had two living rooms mirroring each other dated furniture and could have done with an update in the bathrooms poor decor and shower wasn't great! Games room wasn't bad pool table was poor though very cheap.... Enjoyed the ping pong albeit a very low roof in the games room it was a highlight! Lovely grounds on where the cottages are situated with a lovely field in the grounds of the property! On a plus note very good location 10 mins roughly from minehead and a couple of minutes from Dunster castle!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Duddings in July 2023. There were 25 of us - a big family group ranging from 70 years old to 2- 12 children and 13 adults. We took the Stables and the West Wing. The accommodation suited our needs - country cottages with plenty of toilets/bathrooms and three kitchens between the two houses. Lots to do on site. We enjoyed the swimming pool and games room and also the trampoline and paddock and the outdoor play area. The kitchens were well equipped and we were able to seat all 25 of us for dinner in the Stables after a bit of reorganisation. Outside there were tables with parasols. There were barbecues at each house. We used this one night. We got food delivered by Tesco and Asda. Richard sorted out any minor problems we had. Each house had dishwashers and tumble driers and washing machines. A few tricky things - heating hard to turn in and off. The bedrooms in the Stables have slanted roofs and are hard to stand up in if you’re more than 5ft 2. The walk to the car park is a bit uneven. However all in all we had a great time. The smaller children loved dancing to Alexa. The small village of Dunster is nearby which has some interesting shops and museums.

Stayed in 'The West Wing' for a week - a large cottage that accommodated our family of 12. The building is quirky but homely with lots of space inside and a communal area outside, as well as shared spaces and facilities across the site. Our boys loved the swimming pool and games room.

Well, where do I start! Firstly, one reason we booked this cottage was that there was an indoor pool and as we were going in January, weather far from guaranteed, the pool was something we could go to, however, we then discovered it’s booked out to schools every weekday so we were only able to use it in the evenings. On arrival the cottage wasn’t that clean, the oven and grill particularly dirty, plates and glasses had to be washed before using. Dishwasher wasn’t good, out of rinse aid and the dishwasher tablets provided were cheap so ineffective. On arrival we were told that the boiler was being serviced the next day so we were without heating and hot water from the Tuesday morning until 10pm but was still having problems with it till lunch time the following day even then the hot water was very intermittent. Also there was an electric convector fire (false wood burner) which was broken gave a glow only but no heat. On the Thursday there was a burst water main so had no water, the owner never checked on us or provided drinking water. We booked to hire towels, take my advice and take your own! They are very small, barely goes around you and were as soft as a loofa and still had the gall to charge for them! Top it off we were asked to vacuum before we left with a vacuum which had a blockage in the pipe. We managed with just the hose and ended up cleaning more old dust and hair which had clearly been there a while. On a plus side, the cottage well suited in its design as we were three families and the 6 bedrooms were in three separate areas. Some suggestions for improvement would be a curtain at the end of the living room to give privacy to that end. Instructions for the washer dryer would be helpful, not sure if it was faulty or user error! a pint of fresh milk instead of UHT portions would be a nice touch. Wooden slats on the changing room floors would be helpful.

We ABSOLUTELY LOVED this place! It was perfect for our family as it was split into 3 sections/wings. The eating area fitted all 11 of around it and the lounge area was spacious too. There were plenty of pans, cutlery etc for us all. Outside the grounds were huge and the kids loved the play area, games room and tennis court. They may be a little run down but they serve their purpose - especially considering the price.
It is also ideally located for exploring North Devon and we enjoyed days out near by - particularly Dunster and its castle.

We stayed in the stables this week although the place was very nice, upstairs was not good for tall people, on opening the door it smelt musty and damp. The lounge furniture was damp and cold to sit on when we tried to put the heating on it was useless so I went to fetch the owner, he said what you want the heating on for its August ,but when you have elderly arthritic people and toddler plus a leukemia sufferer in the party we needed heating at night very rude and unacceptable from the owner will not recommend this place

An amazing place to come and stay with your family that is highly recommended.
We arrived to a lovely welcome from the owner and was shown to our accommodation (The Annexe) which was clean, tidy and very comfortable.
The beds are comfortable and the building size is perfect for a short stay for the 4 of us.
The on-site facilities are great with a lovely pool, hot tub, tennis court, games room with a pool table & table tennis. We love feeding the Ponies who are really lovely and great fun for the kids.
We will definitely be booking again very soon.

Had a lovely few days with our whole family (including dogs) in this beautiful part of Exmoor. We arrived a bit earlier than expected and the owner kindly let us move in to the cottage a few hours before the check-in time. The accommodation was fantastic with a well equipped kitchen. The pool and games room were great too and kept the kids occupied for hours. On the last day storm Eunice hit and we were kept safe by our centuries old stone cottage. The owners checked that we were all OK and provided us with candles and hot water for tea / coffee. We would love to come back again in times of less extreme weather!

We stayed in Horner which proved to be ideal for the two of us. The views were excellent and Horner is very handy for getting to the excellent swimming pool and the car park. The weather was brilliant and we really appreciated being able to book the pool for one hour private sessions. It was also useful to have a washer/drier in the cottege. The armchairs were very comfortable and we also found the bed very comfortable and slept really well. We received a very warm welcome on arrival.
We will certainly return again.
